What to Expect at a Tarot Reading in Singapore
A tarot reading is a guided conversation, not a fortune-telling verdict. If you've never had one, here's exactly how a session works at Affinity Crystals in Chinatown — and what to think about before you book, wherever you go.
How a session works
- Booking — sessions are by appointment, 30 or 60 minutes, held in person at our shop at 150 South Bridge Road. WhatsApp us at +65 9728 8112 to arrange a time.
- Setting an intention — we start by talking about what's on your mind: a relationship, a career decision, a general "where am I heading". You don't need a perfectly-formed question.
- The reading — you shuffle, we draw a spread, and we work through what each card suggests about your situation. You can ask questions throughout; the best readings are two-way.
- Takeaways — you leave with perspectives to reflect on, not instructions. Many clients photograph their spread to revisit later.
Tarot vs oracle readings — which should you choose?
Tarot uses a structured 78-card deck with established meanings, which suits specific questions and decisions. Oracle cards are freer-form and gentler — ideal if you're new to readings or want affirming, big-picture guidance rather than detail. We offer both; first-timers often start with oracle.
Good questions to bring
- "What should I understand about my career direction this year?"
- "What energy am I bringing into this relationship?"
- "What's blocking me from moving forward, and what would help?"
Open "what/how" questions work better than yes/no ones — they give the cards, and the conversation, room to be useful.
What a reading is — and isn't
A responsible reader will not diagnose health issues, guarantee outcomes, or make decisions for you. Readings are for insight and reflection. If a reader pressures you into repeat sessions or expensive "curse removal", walk away — that's not how ethical practitioners work.
